While working another case in the same area, our team discovered this stray dog and immediately launched a rescue effort. Using our thermal drone, we located the area where she was bedding down and used that intelligence to strategically deploy a feeding station with liquid smoke trails to begin conditioning her for capture. Once we confirmed her location, we attempted a hand capture, but she proved to be far too elusive. Our team is now focused on getting her to consistently visit one of our feeding stations so we can prepare for a safe and humane trap capture.
See the timeline below for detailed updates as this rescue progresses. 💚

It has now been over a week since we deployed our feeding stations, and he/she has not returned to the area where our team originally located him/her. The construction workers who had been seeing him/her regularly for weeks have not reported any recent sightings.
This construction site spans several hundred acres, and the landscape is changing rapidly as development continues. Those changes can cause a stray dog’s travel patterns to shift significantly. We have continued distributing flyers to construction workers and are leaving the feeding stations in place in hopes that he/she will eventually circle back. Because this is a newly developing neighborhood with very few occupied homes, sightings will most likely come from construction workers.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Tammy, Sheba’s mom from Case #483. Even while missing her own beloved Sheba, Tammy has graciously volunteered to replenish the feeding stations for this stray in the same area. Her selfless compassion for another dog while continuing the search for Sheba is truly inspiring, and we are incredibly grateful for her support. 💚
As always, we will update this page as soon as there is a new sighting, he/she visits one of our feeding stations, or there are any other significant developments.
