Stray Pyrenees~Case 480

Fort Worth, Texas

Case acceptance date: 03/28/2026

Captured: 04/05/2026 20:18

Female, No Microchip

🥾Boots on the Ground Time: 17.5 hours

After three years of surviving along the creek and in the surrounding forests of North Fort Worth, this Great Pyrenees is finally safe.

Originally left behind in 2023 when farmland in the area was sold to developers, she adapted to life on her own, becoming highly intelligent, elusive, and extremely difficult to capture. Over the years, multiple attempts were made by animal control, good Samaritans, and rescue organizations, but none were successful due to the many challenges surrounding this case.

About a year ago, a dedicated Good Samaritan named Bo partnered with Apollo Support and Rescue and established feeding stations over the past two years across various locations in an effort to bring her to safety.

At the same time, local residents and roommates, Angela and Renee, independently established their own feeding station and have been consistently feeding her for approximately 14 months, creating a reliable pattern.

Due to her extreme intelligence and elusiveness, along with the advanced tactics and equipment required to successfully capture a dog like this, our team was contacted for assistance.

After putting boots on the ground and working through the logistics, we partnered and collaborated with everyone involved to help lead and coordinate efforts toward her safe capture.

Using specialized operational tactics, strategic conditioning, and precise execution, our team successfully captured her safely and without incident.

This was a highly calculated operation where every detail mattered, and the established feeding patterns allowed us to move quickly and efficiently toward capture.

Please view the timeline below for full case details, step-by-step progression, and capture video.

💚 We want to give a huge thank you to Bo, Danielle with Apollo Support and Rescue, Angela and Renee, and Jennifer for their dedication and commitment to this dog over the past year and beyond. The foundation they built allowed us to move quickly and efficiently toward capture.  It was truly an honor to work alongside Apollo Support and Rescue on this case. They do incredible work, and we are grateful for their partnership. We look forward to working together again in the future.

Feeding station locations will remain confidential to protect the integrity of this case.

CASE TIMELINE

This Feeding Station was Already Established by Bo & Apollo Rescue

Bo and Danielle with Apollo Rescue have been feeding this dog in various locations for months.  We will be deploying cameras at their existing feeding station to see if there is any consistency and to monitor her behaviors as we gather Intel.

Wednesday, 04/01/2026 ~ Boots on the Ground

Our team will had boots on the ground today to set up our cameras and further survey the area for future corral trap deployment!   More to come!

Thursday, 04/02/2026 14:30 ~ Exciting Day!!!

Yesterday, a Good Samaritan named Jennifer shared our flyer in her neighborhood group on social media. As a result, we were contacted by two roommates, Angela and Renee, who shared that they has also been feeding this dog for the past 14 months and they have had their own camera set up.

Based on their data, it appears this dog has been visiting their feeding station on a more consistent and routine schedule, which is extremely important.

Our team put boots back on the ground today to evaluate their setup and determine if it is a suitable location for deploying our corral trap for capture.  It’s perfect so we prepped the area, added our cameras and will be working from this location!  The other food station is being demobilized and this will be her only food source as we approach her capture!

Please stay tuned to this page for daily updates as we continue working toward a safe capture.

Thursday, 04/02/2026 19:42 ~ Little Spooked from the Change

Friday, 04/03/2026 19:33 ~ She forgave us… and Just Like Clockwork

In order to prep the area and make room for our large corral trap we had to do a little trimming of the brush and adjust the location of the food bowl.  After making all of our changes we had Angela and Renee continue on their regular feeding schedule.

As you will see in this video, the slightest change can spook them for a day or two.  Not to worry… she will be back!

Saturday, 04/04/2026 15:00 ~ Corral Deployment

Our team arrived on site this afternoon and deployed our corral trap in a 10 x 10 configuration along with video cameras providing 360° coverage both inside and outside of the corral so we have full surveillance of the area.  We chose the time that she does not typically the area in an effort to avoid intercepting her presence.

We locked the corral door in the open position to ensure she is comfortable going inside of it before we plan to deploy our team and stage for capture.

Renee will feed her on her normal schedule this evening, and we expect her to show up during her typical window and walk directly into the corral.

In her food this evening, we also administered three medications. We gave Capstar, which will kill any adult fleas currently on her, along with an oral flea and tick prevention medication. We also started her on day one of a deworming cycle.

18:59 ~ She Walked Right In! We are ready for capture! 🔥

Without hesitation, she walked right inside the corral for her dinner.

Our team will plan to deploy to the site tomorrow afternoon to install the door electronics, arm the corral, and stage for capture around her normal feeding window.

We will be live streaming capture staging on all platforms. Link will be provided soon.

Easter Sunday, 04/05/2026 17:00 ~ Staged for Capture (LIVE STREAM)

Tonight, after three years of surviving along the creek and in the surrounding forests, she is finally safe.

Although this case had gone on for years, once our team put boots on the ground, it required precise strategy, consistency, and calculated execution every step of the way.

Without hesitation, she entered the corral for her dinner, and the door was deployed, safely securing her. She was safely captured without incident, and upon initial exam, she did not appear to have any pre-existing injuries.

💚 We want to give a huge thank you to Bo, Danielle with Apollo Support and Rescue, Angela and Renee, and Jennifer for their dedication and commitment to this dog over the past year and beyond. The foundation they built allowed us to move quickly and efficiently toward capture.

She is the SWEETEST!!! She was just too scared to let anyone get close while on the run

After about an hour of allowing her to decompress inside the corral, we were able to enter and safely place a slip leash on her.

She immediately began walking on the leash inside the corral, which tells us she has likely been on a leash before.

We then placed the transport crate inside the corral to safely secure her, and she walked right into the crate on her own.

She allowed us to love on her, and it was clear she was already starting to relax and trust.

Apollo Support and Rescue transported her safely to their facility. They will be notifying Fort Worth Animal Services to report her as a found stray and will make every effort to locate her family, as will we.

Apollo has experience rehabilitating dogs just like her and will continue to keep us updated on her progress as she begins this next chapter.

We will update her case page here as new updates come in and as she continues her journey forward. 💚

She now has a safe, comfortable indoor/outdoor run where she can finally decompress and get the rest she deserves.

Apollo Support and Rescue will be having her evaluated by their veterinary team right away, and we will keep you updated on anything that may be discovered as she begins her recovery. 💚
