It all started with one unspayed dog named Kayla, who had a family but she was allowed to free roam. For years she continued to have litter after litter of puppies on the property. Along the way, the puppies would all disappear either by wandering off and becoming a homeless stray, some would be picked up and kept as personal pets, and others died of disease, illness, injury and some were shot.
Thanks to Good Samaritans Cassie, Andrea, and Robbie, the vicious cycle stopped with Kayla’s litter’s # 5 & 6!
Litter #5 are feral adolescents (only 10 months old), including 4 females who are all pregnant through inbreeding, all of which need to be captured by Mutts & Mayhem Emergency Search and Rescue.
Mama Kayla and Litter #6 have all been Rescued and were transported to Jailbreak Husky Rescue in Colorado! Please follow their amazing rescues by checking the timeline below!

More updates on Junior will be posted soon.
We are on site in Royse City for the third day. There are three females remaining, all of which just had multiple litters of inbred puppies between 6/1 & 6/11. Today we are attempting to capture Fancy and her puppies. These dogs have never had human contact so they are petrified, and none of them are consistent at the corral feeding station making this case very challenging. The corral is baited and armed.
We will be posting more details very soon.
We will try to go live but our signal is awful out here.
We were not able to capture any of more of the moms today but we rescued 23 puppies.
The decision was made to take the puppies now because the building that the moms and puppies were surviving under is extremely small, overcrowded, and the adults are starting to get into horrific fights over the puppies. In addition, the moms were not eating and drinking enough to produce sufficient milk for all of the puppies.
Tragically one puppy did not make it. R.I.P. Sweet Angel. 😫😔💔
Under the circumstances of this case, it is also critically important that we stop this vicious cycle of reproduction and prevent more puppies from having inbred puppies. The moms of these puppies are only 10 months old themselves. As the puppies were to start getting older and start roaming around the property, they would become highly susceptible to Pavo, distemper, and other diseases. All of the puppies were covered in fleas, so it was very important that we get them to try to prevent anemia.
We will be bottlefeeding the puppies until they are transported to a rescue. Check back here for updates!
Bottle feeding is going well. Our team member Selena is a paramedic and she is excellent at tube feeding. There were four puppies that were really struggling to nurse at first, but she was able to supplement their feedings by placing a tube into their esophagus when they were too weak to nurse. Now they are all thriving! ♥️
A very special thank you to Dr. Randy Wuensche DVM, and his wife/assistant Terrie for visiting their foster homes in order to conduct exams, Parvo tests on puppies (NEG), a heartworm test on Junior (NEG), and to issue health certificates for all 22 in preparation for their transport to Colorado in a few days.
These precious souls began their journey to Colorado today with Jailbreak Husky Rescue! More updates to come after they arrive to Colorado and get settled in.

MMESAR team members Selena and Tracy are transporting them to Jailbreak Husky Rescue! They are so amazing to have made the trip to Texas TWICE already to pick up the other 29 feral dogs from this one case. These are the last two that we captured so after having a month to decompress, spend time with our rehabilitation trainers, get spayed and fully vetted, we decided to make the trip and take them ourselves to give Jailbreak a break.

♥️ Big hugs to Debbie Volcik for keeping us fully stocked with her beautiful homemade crocheted blankets for all of the loves we capture! For most it’s their very first blanket EVER!
